"Designing positive clothes and inspiring positive change."
About Alteva
Alteva was founded in 2017 as a 'Sustainable Fashion Label' proudly designed and manufactured in Perth, Western Australia by emerging Designer Sarina Menzies.
Inspired by the ocean plastic epidemic at the time, Alteva was one of the first brands in Australia to produce a collection using recycled fibres made from plastic bottles, and featured in the first Eco Fashion Week Australia in 2017.
Micro collections followed suit in 2019 and 2021, focusing on working with natural fibres, deadstock and playing with the art of upcycling.
Philanthropy in Marine Science to help tackle climate change was an important underlying message in the ss20 collection.
Alteva will be relaunching in 2025 as a 'Circular Clothing Brand' and a proud member of the Australian Fashion Council, continuing the philanthropic narrative and vision of a sustainable future for the Australian Fashion Industry by designing positive clothes and inspiring positive change.
"What does 'Circular Clothing' mean?"
We choose to work with textile remnants, ethical fibres, and exploring innovative future fabrics, producing on a small scale so each design is only one of a special few.
This means we are playing our small part in the solution and not adding to the bigger problem that the world/fashion industry is facing today with overconsumption and waste.
We also give back to the community by donating profits to environmental and social initiatives, creating a circular business model end to end.
